Below you will find resources to help you adjust to online instruction. You wil also find a list of resources for you and your family. If you need anything during this transition, please contact us at drc@sfsu.edu

  • you can find Tips  that can assist you in navigating online classes 
  • Feel free to ask your professors if they have virtual office hours and ask for an appointment if you need help 
  • If you need support or have a question, know that you can ask for help 
  • This change to virtual courses may also be new to your professors. Keep in mind that this will be a transition to everyone.  
  • Remember there is FREE ONLINE TUTORING (check your SFSU email for a message from ueap@sfsu.edu which has tons of resources)
  • SF State’s HOPE Crisis Fund supports students with financial support when they it need the most.

  • San Francisco’s Request for You to Stay Home 
  • Loss of Income and Fear of Eviction 

    • ​If you have lost income due to the recent developments in SF and cannot pay rent, the Mayor London N. Breed has released a moratorium to make sure you don’t get evicted 
    • Please follow the instructions listed at SF Mayor Site
    • If you live in a different area: If you are worried about getting evicted and are comfortable reaching out, let me know so I can see if I can locate resources in your area.  
  • Employment Rights 

    • ​Whether you have an immigration status or not, you have employment rights.

  • Gator Groceries 

    • ​Emergency meals and snacks can be access at  Gator Groceries on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11am- 3pm at the Cesar Chavez Student Center, Recreation & Dining Level (bottom level). Here you will find a resource list of community food banks. 
  • Free Internet 

    • ​If you don’t have internet, many companies are offering free internet at this time. Please call the numbers below for more information and eligibility:

  • Your Physical and Mental Health 

If you or your family need any resources that are not listed above, please reach out and I will try to locate support for you. Please know that you are not alone in this.  We are available via zoom call or video to meet and chat if you need anything. Just email us to schedule an appointment.  The coordinator will be arranging a few zoom meet-ups for us to check in throughout the semester for those who want to do so as a group.
